3S lithium batteries are often used in ducted aircraft, fixed wings, helicopters and other aircraft models, with stable discharge and wide operating temperature; large charging current is allowed, charging speed is fast, and it can be fully charged in only 1~2 hours; no memory effect ; low self-discharge rate and long storage life; high energy and high storage energy density; high output voltage (the rated voltage of a single-cell lithium battery is generally 3.6V, while the voltage of a single-cell NiMH and NiCd battery is only 1.2V), etc. advantage.
But lithium batteries also have a squeamish side in their use. When charging the lithium battery, it is necessary to prevent overcharging. If the charging voltage is higher than the specified voltage or the charging current is greater than the specified current, the lithium battery will be damaged or scrapped. In the case of overcharging, the temperature of the lithium battery with excess energy rises, and the electrolyte will decompose to generate gas, which will increase the internal pressure and cause the risk of spontaneous combustion or rupture.
Usually the termination charging voltage of a single-cell lithium battery is 4.2V, the accuracy is controlled within ±1%, and the charging current is not more than 1C (C represents the charging and discharging rate, 1C represents that the battery is fully charged or discharged within 1 hour. required rate). Lithium batteries should also be prevented from being over-discharged during use. Over-discharging will lead to deterioration of battery characteristics and durability, and reduced rechargeable times. Usually, the discharge current is required to be no more than 2C, and the termination discharge voltage is controlled at about 2.4~2.7V.
3.4 Charging voltage: Does not have to surpass the highest amount which in this specification of 12.8V.
